The document gathers contributions made by all working groups
Delegations participating in the 16th Conference of the Parties received from the Secretariat a draft of the agreements reached up to this moment so that ministers can accelerate negotiations, informed Ambassador Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, President of the COP16.
"These drafts will allow us to see the general ideas and the set of decisions we have made together," she said during a brief informal meeting shortly before 18:00 on Friday. "We must move forward and recognize that these drafts are a real substantive progress."
The President of COP16 assured that the texts were not written by Mexico. They were built with the efforts of all delegates and pick up all opinions expressed until now.
She also stated that the consultations made by working groups and facilitators will continue to make sure that these documents be as inclusive as possible.
Ambassador Patricia Espinosa Cantellano emphasized that the time to reach a definitve agreement is about to run out, and then she received a standing ovation from the delegates. A new session is expected at around 20:00 today.
