The concert Singing for the Planet, which is carried out every night at the Climate Change Village, counted with the presence of five well-known Mexican singers: Paco Rentería, Alexander Acha, Yahir, Benny Ibarra and Mijares.

Despite a slight rain, attendance records were broken, and people did not stop clapping their hands to show their favorite artists how much they enjoyed their music. The first to come out was Paco Rentería, followed by a mariachi to sing Mexican folk music.

Alexander Acha and Yahir followed. They encouraged and invited the public to be informed and raise their awareness on climate change. Both singers said to be very glad to participate in events that promote the conservation of the environment.

Benny Ibarra, who has been a spokesperson of the Save the Children foundation for 8 years, invited everyone to plant a tree and care for the water. While singing his most famous songs, he said that when people put their hearts into something that makes it happen. 

In between singers, several videos were shown. They were made by Mexican artist Willy Sousa, who is also the author of the exhibition Mexico in your senses, which is located within the Climate Change Village. Organizers invited the public to tour the site and get informed about the proposals made by Civil Society Organizations.

Manuel Mijares closed the concert with a repertoire of hits like Soldado del amor, Corazón Salvaje, No se murió el amor, and Baño de Mujeres. He thanked Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the space offered for culture at the Climate Change Village.
